Devil dances across the sky

But when we were approaching Lahore at 11.000 meters, the western part of the sky was full of clouds where the Devil was dancing. I guess Thor was there as well, swinging his Mjolnir. I have no idea how far, berhaps 100 km or so away, clouds high up in the sky was full of lightning. And how it flashed... there was a constant blinking for the entire passage. I wonder how much hell it was on the ground but the clouds light up like there was an untold number of photographers. I have seen it on TV, I had never seen it live. Sure, not been inside that thunder and lighting but close enough. It was probably the best experience of the flight.

Finnair, I do understand now how you can be so cheap. Crap chairs but personal entertainment is perhaps decent but crappy food and a bun, some yoghurt and tea.. that is your breakfast? Thanks but I will stay with SAS or Thai if I ever come back here.

Bangkok is what it is. Staying near Nana, you know you are in the seedier places of the city. When the streets in the night is full of aggressive female beggars with their babies, you know you are where the majority of people are Thai women and Farang men and lots of bars. Sometimes the city feels like it has changed, then it quickly reverts back to itself. Some small things are new - the begging dog and one-legged old woman near Nana station is gone. My favorite juice seller is gone. I need to search for my squeezed passion fruit juce that is soooo good. Then the rest is normal. Thai people have the sweetest tooth I ever seen. There are sellers of desserts everywhere. You don't just get donuts here. They are topped with some thick crust, cream or other sauce, sprinkled with candy, a piece of fruit and then everything is glazed.

Buildings grow slow. Sure, the Central World is running again after being torched in the 2010 riots. But in Siam Square, the gutted buildings destroyed in the same riots are still nothing more then a construction yard.

Spent first day in Chatuchak - hot as hell but comfortable when the wind blew. Thanks to pit stops every 50 meter where you have something cold or frozen go get. Just popping out from one the 27 sections, having browsed 15.000 shops and experienced the 27 acres of shopping - you feel like you gonna melt away.

Good to be back - feels nice to feel your brain melt in the heat while you teeth are decaying of all the sugar you eat. Yummie!
